My new website has been online since February 2010 (today is 9/4/11) making it over a year old!  I thought it was time to take a look at my search engine rankings and see how far I have come in the last 12 months.

How do my search engine optimisation services stack up?

What better industry to show my ability to perform search engine optimisation than by demonstrating how my own website ranks in relation to other search engine optimisation and online marketing companies.

This is perhaps THE MOST COMPETITIVE industry as far as search engine rankings and keywords go.

How did I get these results?

  • I took a picture of the search results using  the “screen capture” function on my computer.
  • Each search for a keyword was done using the “Google Ad Preview Tool” set to:
    • google.co.nz
    • New Zealand
    • on the 09/04/11.
    • (Basically this tool looks at ads and rankings without creating false searches, it shows what the search results would look like to anyone searching these keywords in google.co.nz in New Zealand on this date.)

so what does it all mean?

Rankings = Traffic

By getting yourself into the search engines for keywords which are related to your business, products & services you get traffic.

Traffic = Leads/Customers

This traffic could result in people visiting your website and reading the information or ringing your phone number making them a lead that you could possibly sell to.

Leads/Customers = Sales

Once the lead has found out everything they need to know, a percentage of leads will buy from you. This means sales!

Sales = Money $$$
